Behind the Scenes at MPTF: The Pitt Panel Lights Up the Stage

On August 11, 2025, the Motion Picture & Television Fund (MPTF) hosted a special panel event featuring The Pitt’s creative core. R. Scott Gemmill, the show’s creator and showrunner, sat alongside Noah Wyle (Dr. Robby) and Katherine LaNasa (Dana Evans) for an evening of storytelling, insight, and industry connection, all in support of the Fund’s mission to care for entertainment community members. Viewer-favorite Pete Hammond from Deadline also joined the conversation, making it a memorable night for fans and peers alike.

Here are several takeaways from this panel:

  • Storytelling with Impact – Gemmill, Wyle, and LaNasa reflected on what makes The Pitt resonate—from its real-time format to the emotional precision that sets it apart.

  • Wearing Many Hats – Noah Wyle discussed balancing his roles both in front of the camera as Dr. Robby and behind the scenes as executive producer.

  • On-Screen Teamwork – Katherine LaNasa gave fans a glimpse into her process as Dana Evans, emphasizing how collaboration and care carried from script to set.

The event not only gave fans rare insights into the show’s DNA but did so within an organization whose legacy supports those behind the scenes in our industry. That kind of synergy? So good.
