Producer of the year

Crediting one medical drama with saving TV might be a stretch, but The Pitt sure was an industry-wide mood boost. HBO Max’s elevated procedural finally gave streaming something that fueled broadcast forever: a well-liked, well-acted, well-made show that came out weekly and kept growing its audience. The trio shared a best drama win at the Emmys, while Wyle (who also writes) took best actor. It returns Jan. 8, a year after its premiere.

Wells: “How do you make 15 episodes and get The Pitt on the air every year at the same time? Wow, I grew up doing 22 and we still had a four week vacation every year!”

My weirdest note from legal
Gemmill: “Had to cut a joke about North Korea.”

Rudest thing to ever happen during a zoom pitch
Wells: “Watching someone scrolling and texting throughout the entire pitch. I think they thought their camera was off.”

Congratulations to John Wells, Scott Gemmill, and Noah Wyle!! The article is by The Hollywood Reporter
