Shabana Azeez Teases “Lots of Breakdowns” in Season 2

Shabana Azeez, who plays medical student Victoria Javadi on The Pitt, exclusively shared with E! News insight into the HBO Max show's second season, which premiered on Jan. 8.

"Not a spoiler," she quipped, "because obviously there's gonna be heaps of gore."

And just like the day shift—and night shift—staffers, the cast and crew are "like a family" in real life.

"It doesn't feel like it's gotten glossy or different," the 28-year-old shared, explaining how The Pitt's recent success at the 2026 Critics Choice has not changed the vibes on set. "It's a really sweet place to be."

It's a sentiment shared by her costar Supriya Ganesh, who plays Dr. Samira Mohan. In fact, she was thrilled to see their castmate Shawn Hatosy step into the director's chair this season.

“It’s so great working with Shawn,” she told E! earlier in January. “He’s so talented, so prepped as a director. I really love working with him.”

As for her onscreen persona? Supriya, 28, is "excited to explore" more of her character's chemistry with Shawn's Dr. Jack Abbot.

“Samira is just so focused on work that she doesn't really notice, at least last season, that something might be going on,” she explained. “I do think there's an interesting dynamic that plays out between them, where he has so much respect for her and he really believes in her.”
