Supriya Ganesh Teases What's in Store for Dr. Mohan, Dr. Abbot's Romance in Season 2
Amid the chaos of the ER, romance in The Pitt hasn’t fully flatlined.
After all, Supriya Ganesh, who plays Dr. Samira Mohan in the HBO hit alongside Noah Wyle and Katherine LaNasa, teased how the series is leaning into a possible romance between her character and Shawn Hatosy’s Dr. Jack Abbot, after their chemistry in season one had fans suggesting sparks could soon be flying.
“Samira is just so focused on work that she doesn't really notice, at least last season, that something might be going on,” Supriya told E! News in an exclusive interview. “I do think there's an interesting dynamic that plays out between them, where he has so much respect for her and he really believes in her.”
And considering Mohan was at odds several times with Abbot’s pal—and her shift attending—Dr. Robby (played by Noah) during the season, Supriya emphasized of the night shift attending’s attention to her skillset, “She needs people in positions like that to believe in her as a doctor."
As for what is to come in season two—which premieres Jan. 9—the 28-year-old teased that Samira is more likely to pick up on the subtle hints Dr. Abbot has been dropping.
“I definitely think that that adds to their dynamic,” she explained. “I’m excited to explore that this season.”
Off screen, Supriya also emphasized that Shawn—who has confirmed there is a “flirtation” on his character’s end toward Mohan—has been an incredible costar in the new installment.
“It’s so great working with Shawn,” she added. “He also directed an episode this season. He’s so talented, so prepped as a director. I really love working with him.”
