'The Pitt' Star Addresses the Hit Series' Future After Netflix-Warner Bros. Deal
After the Season 2 premiere, and the early third season renewal from HBO Max, The Pitt star Noah Wyle addressed the future of the medical drama after Netflix's acquisition of Warner Bros. HBO Max is under the WBD label, meaning the show could be affected by the strategic decisions that will surely be made once the company merges with Netflix. But is it clever of Netflix to change anything about one of the most successful series in the current television landscape?
Although the show is very successful, Wyle understands that change is inevitable. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the Emmy winner talked about the merger that is on everyone's mind today, saying, "I have no idea what the ripple effect is going to be. I don't know that anybody does really."
Executive producer John Wells also talked about the merger, and whether it could affect the series: "We make shows, and we're hopeful that we will continue to be able to have whatever the distribution system is and that there will be people who want to make those shows…I've been at Warners a long time. This will be the fifth sale that I will have been around for, and we're still making shows. We've been making shows the whole time. So the assumption is, as long as they let us make them, we'll keep making them." Wells added:
